Boys hoops report | Norfolk Collegiate braces for big week, Simpkins leads Bishop SullivanJanuary 26, 2016
Every Star Wars fan knows that Darth Vader really isn’t a bad guy.Yeah, he killed a bunch of innocent younglings and helped to destroy an entire planet and everyone on it, but in the end it was the light in Anakin that ultimately destroyed the sinister Galactic Empire. That alone should be all the proof you need that he’s generally a pretty decent guy.If you’re still not totally sold, then here’s a little more proof that Darth Vader is actually a good guy.It all started when Terry Burton, the principal at Gateway Elementary in Nebraska, contacted Limbitless Solutions, a non-profit organization that specializes in 3D printed prosthetic limbs, about one of his students, 9-year-old Alvin Garcia Flores, who was born with an underdeveloped right arm. After getting in touch with Limbitless, Burton contacted the 501st Legion, a Star Wars fan group, and coordinated to have Alvin’s new arm delivered by none other than Lord Vader and a small army of Stormtroopers.
After trying on his new bionic arm, Alvin got to take Darth Vader on a tour around his school, while all of his classmates lined the halls to cheer him on.
A while back, Limbitless Solutions also teamed up with Robert Downey Jr., a.k.a. the real life Tony Stark, to deliver a brand newIron Man themed bionic arm to a 7-year-old boy who was also born with an underdeveloped right arm.
As for Alvin, he’s looking forward to getting a bit more practice in with his new arm. Odds are it won’t be long before he’ll be able to wield his very own lightsaber with it, Darth Vader would probably be more than happy to train him.
